An Intern lead program designed to reduce barriers for our communities

Thrive Forward Skills Group

Thrive Forward Skills Group was created to make mental health support more accessible and approachable for individuals across British Columbia, as well as within our local communities of Vernon, Armstrong, Enderby, Lumby, and surrounding areas. This group is designed to reduce barriers to care by offering a supportive, skills-based environment where participants can learn practical strategies for managing stress, improving emotional well-being, and strengthening resilience.

Our approach blends evidence-based tools with a collaborative group setting, allowing participants to build confidence, practice new skills, and feel supported by others who share similar experiences. Thrive Forward is not just about managing challenges—it’s about moving toward growth, connection, and lasting positive change.

Mission

Mental health challenges can often leave people feeling isolated and alone. With the Thrive Forward Skills Group, our intention is to create a safe, welcoming space where individuals can come together, learn, and feel supported. This group is designed to provide practical coping strategies that help participants manage everyday stressors, improve emotional well-being, and strengthen resilience. It is psycho-educational based and is not a therapy or support group.

By focusing on skill-building within a supportive community setting, participants not only gain valuable tools for navigating life’s challenges but also benefit from the connection of being alongside others who understand. Our hope is that the Thrive Forward Skills Group becomes a place of learning, encouragement, and empowerment—where individuals feel less isolated and more equipped to thrive.
